Sara Rajeswaran

Sara has twenty years’ experience in corporate affairs, including as Director of Corporate Communications and Sustainability at AXA, Director of Impact and Public Affairs at Nest Corporation, and Director of External Affairs at UK Private Capital. She was Chief of Staff to the Group CEO of Aviva (Dame Amanda Blanc), and Chief of Staff to the CEO (Sir David Higgins) and Strategy Adviser to the Chair (Rick Haythornthwaite) of Network Rail. Sara has also worked in UK politics, writing transport policy in the run up to the 2010 election and as Special Adviser to two consecutive Environment Secretaries, during Brexit and the covid pandemic. 

Sara co-authored A Portrait of Modern Britain with Rishi Sunak at Policy Exchange in 2014 and was researcher to Professor Alison Wolf for her book The XX Factor: How Working Women Are Creating a New Society. 

In addition to the VOCES8 Foundation, Sara is a trustee of the National Centre for Social Research - the UK’s largest independent and not-for-profit social research organisation; and the Theatres Trust - which was set up under statute to promote the protection of theatres for the benefit of the nation. Sara sits on the Advisory Committee of Future Talent - which supports young musicians from low income families; and she also sat on the Advisory Board of Girls’ Voices - which helped establish girl choristers in the choir of St Paul’s Cathedral. 

Sara studied Modern History and Politics at The Queen’s College, Oxford University, where she sang in the chapel choir under Owen Rees. She then went on to study Classical Voice at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama, studying with David Pollard.
