VOCES8 Foundation - UK Board of Trustees
Gary Moss
Since qualification as a solicitor over 40 years ago, Gary has specialised in the field of patent litigation. In that role he has acted in large scale disputes in both the UK and cross border disputes in Europe and the United States. He has overseen major litigations and in 2019 he led a large team in a win before the Supreme Court in the case of Unwired Planet v Huawei, which is one of the leading cases worldwide on the subject of patents in the field of mobile telephony.
Gary jointed his present firm, EIP Europe LLC, in 2011 where he started the patent litigation group. Since then the group and the firm has grown rapidly to the point at which it is now present in four major jurisdictions (UK, Germany, US and Sweden) and it is recognised as being one of the foremost firms in its field in Europe. Gary is a member of the firm’s management board and has helped guide the firm to its current position.
In the various legal directories Gary has been variously described as a “totemic strategist” (!) and ”a seasoned expert held in awe by his peers!”
Gary has also held very significant management positions throughout his career including being the Managing Partner of Taylor Wessing between 1999 and 2002.
Unfortunately, Gary’s talents and success in the legal field are not matched by his talent and success in the musical field, being unable to play any instrument whatsoever and to sing even less! He does, however, have a passion for matters musical and is a keen aficionado of both instrumental and vocal music. Between 1998 and 2010 Gary was a Trustee of Pavilion Opera Education Trust which took opera into schools. He hopes to continue such educational efforts in his role as Trustee of the VOCES8 Foundation.
