Robert Heath
Robert’s love of music began at 6 years old as a choir boy in Manchester UK followed by piano lessons for the next 10 years. He attended Edinburgh University where he studied zoology. However his real passion was founder and musical director of the Edinburgh University Savoy Opera Group which recently celebrated its 60th anniversary.
After graduation he joined Royal Dutch Shell in London UK in 1964. He sang in the New Philharmonia chorus prior to being posted by Shell to Adelaide, South Australia.
After 2 years Shell transferred him to NY. He joined the Collegiate Chorale where he met his wife, Linda, of 44 years. He became President of Musica Sacra .After taking up piano lessons again at the Music Conservatory of Westchester from 1995 to the present, he joined the board and became chair for 20 years.In addition to his music pursuits he founded and ran the largest playground safety surfacing company in the world for 40 years retiring in 2021 at age of 80.
His other interests are fly fishing, he has travelled to 72 countries and was the principal equestrian commentator on CBS, NBC, ABC(Australia) and ESPN for 10 years. He founded the ADS (American Driving Society) in 1971.
He has three children and two grandchildren and lives in Armonk NY.
