VOCES8 Foundation - UK Board of Trustees
John McCuin BSc FCA
John is a Chartered Accountant in private practice. He was Managing Partner of Shipleys LLP stepping down in 2008 when he became a consultant.
Charity work has always been important. This has included acting, since 1981, as Treasurer/Secretary of a charity, set up by King George V, which helps actors & actresses at the end of their careers. He also acted as Finance Trustee/Director for the Spitalfields Festival for 16 years and is now a life patron. He is the Trustee/Treasurer of the St Paul’s Cathedral Chorister Trust and is acting, or has acted, for other musical and artistic charities.
He is a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Blacksmiths becoming their Prime Warden in 2007/08. He is also a Liveryman and Hon. Treasurer of the Musicians’ Company.
His passion is singing, which he started as a young boy treble. At Bristol University, he joined Wills Chapel Choir and sang with them in many English cathedrals. After leaving, he sang with the London Symphony Orchestra Chorus. In the 1980s, he sang regularly as a deputy with the choir of Westminster Abbey and since 1995 he has been a member of the choir of Chelmsford Cathedral.
He is really looking forward to working with the VOCES8 Foundation team and sincerely hopes that he can bring his financial background to help the Foundation step forward into the next stages of its development.
