The VOCES8 Centre has its home in the stunning church of St Anne & St Agnes, situated at the St Martin's-le-Grand end of Gresham Street. In addition to our very active education programme with local schools we are also available to hire for events of all sorts: Our own fully crewed Recording/Broadcasting Studio from which we have successfully run several seasonal online festivals via our ultra high speed internet connection; Concerts and rehearsals; Film Crews and SA/Crowd Holding; professional audio and video recordings; workshops, professional development events, and many others. We offer a range of spaces...
The Nave: approx 13 x 13m square, with a soaring vaulted ceiling 15m high. A rare Wren Greek Cross formation, it is basically a square within a square, which offers an incredible acoustic for vocal music. Perfect for concerts, recording (see VOCES8 Studios), rehearsals, meetings, conferences, workshops et al. The space is very adaptable and is usually kept clear for optimum set ups, depending on your requirements. Maximum capacity is 150 audience seated and we offer a beautiful Blüthner grand piano, staging, speakers, candelabra, chairs, conference tables, bistro/poseur tables and other props for hire.
We have a projector and screen available for hire as well as a 24ft green screen.

Facilities: We have 3 W.C.s one of which is fully accessible for wheelchairs, completely level access to the front door, full central heating, state of the art lighting and wifi throughout the building.
We have an urn and kettles for making hot drinks in the nave; you will only need to bring your own cups and supplies.
Parking: Gresham Street and surrounding streets are ‘pay and display’ on weekdays until 7pm and Saturdays until 11am, and then free on single yellow lines. On street parking is free on Sundays. There is an NCP car park nearby at the Barbican. There are Disabled Parking Bays directly outside the VOCES8 Centre next to the taxi halt, and a few further along the street.
Did you know that here at the VOCES8 Centre we often turn our beautiful space into a holding space for film studios?
Over the past few years we are delighted to have helped many film and tv companies with their productions. You can see a few examples here and there are many more in the pipeline which we can’t tell you about yet! We are honoured to be part of the ‘film crew family’ as their various hires of the Centre contribute hugely to the funding for education projects to local schools each year...we also have a great deal of fun helping them set up make-up, costume, cast and crew holding facilities.
